Mark Cuban doesn’t just sleep with his new championship trophy.

Ninety percent I’ll spend on good times, women and Irish whiskey. The other ten percent I’ll probably waste.
Shaq announced on Twitter (and in a video) that he’s “about to retire.”
Only Shaq would use Twitter to announce an end to his 19-year Hall of Fame career. We’ve had our differences over the years big man, but I’ll miss you, as well the league.

NBA Team Logo Redesigns | Michael Weinstein Design
Michael Weinstein Design is in the process of re-imagining the logos for every NBA team. I’m not in love with every idea but this one for the Los Angeles Clippers grabbed me. Simple and contextual. It’ll be fun to follow to see what he comes up with for the rest of the teams.
Apparently averaging 4 points and 6 rebounds for your career along with throwing a basketball at Shaq makes you legendary these days.
His free throw shooting is legendary.

Michael Jordan is probably the greatest scorer to ever play in the game, but I may go as far to say LeBron James is probably the greatest player to ever play the game. Not only can he score at will, but he keeps everybody involved. You have to be on your Ps and Qs because everybody is a threat to score when he’s on the floor. Not only that, LeBron James will dominate the game on the offensive end and he’s able to do it on the defensive end as well. He can get in those passing lanes and dominate the game.

Report: Kevin Durant’s Success Could Lead To More NBA Teams Drafting Tall Players
I don’t know. I’m skeptical.
Larry Bird: A Basketball Legend (Part 1)
Dirk’s been drawing a lot of comparisons to “The Hick from French Lick” recently (“The Trick from Munich,” anybody? No, you’re right, that was awful). Here’s a refresher on what Larry Bird was all about. I used to have this on VHS and watch it religiously as a kid, and here it is now for you; part 1 above, the other parts linked below (total length is about an hour).

I’m not sure there is anything particularly revolutionary about these ideas by Dublin-based Notion, at least as outlined here by Fast Company. People have been working on some variation of this theme for a long time. But they certainly do look cool and once we get all those sticky rights issues and what-not out of the way I’m sure they’ll become a reality.
